In class with prof.gibbons we learned about the history behind slavery and African Americans in a writing/analysis style.

throughout the class, we all picked a different book about the history of African Americans. I choose “The miseducation of the negro” by carter g Woodson where he explains why knowledge was so important to break the segregation and mistreatment of the black race and the struggle it took to become educated in the “white mans” country, of course, this education was controlled by the power of the white limiting their knowledge and the truth, Woodson called this the miseducation of the negro.
